Environmental policy
The Environmental Policy of Tacchificio Villa Cortese reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability as the foundation of its responsible growth strategy. The organization adopts an efficient use of resources by promoting innovative technologies, reducing waste, recovering production scraps, and utilizing renewable energy sources. Its focus extends to building a traceable supply chain oriented towards quality, based on recycled, certified, and low-impact materials. At the same time, the company invests in training and raising employee awareness on environmental issues, fostering the development of skills and the diffusion of a shared culture.
Geothermal and Solar Energy
Tacchificio Villa Cortese has always been sensitive to environmental issues: originally, our production areas were heated through the combustion of wood scraps left over from our manufacturing processes. In the last decade, we have installed a geothermal plant and solar panels, which generate about 70% of the energy used by the company and make it possible to guarantee truly sustainable operations.
Treedom
In December 2020, in collaboration with Treedom, Tacchificio Villa Cortese established its company forest in Cameroon. The 250 trees that make up the forest will help absorb CO2 emissions, producing oxygen and supporting biodiversity, and will generate income for the community and farmers involved. Link to the forest.
